Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Stefan Mladenov, trading as MapLore ("MapLore," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and shares information when you use the MapLore website and application (the "Service"). We are committed to handling your information carefully and only as described here.
1. Who is responsible for your data
The data controller for personal information processed through the Service is Stefan Mladenov, a sole trader established in the Republic of North Macedonia, trading as MapLore. For any privacy question or request, contact us at company@maplore.io.
2. Information we collect
- Account information: the email address and password (stored only as a salted hash, never in plain text) you provide when you sign up.
- Project content: the maps, scenes, routes, labels, and battle data you create, plus the video files rendered from them.
- Billing information: your subscription plan, export and credit usage, and billing history. Card and payment details are collected and processed directly by Paddle, our payment provider and Merchant of Record; we do not receive or store full card numbers.
- Usage and device data: log data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, used to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
3. How and why we use information
We use the information above to:
- Provide, maintain, and secure the Service, including rendering and storing your video exports (to perform our contract with you);
- Process subscription payments and enforce plan limits such as exports, resolution, and scene counts (to perform our contract and meet legal obligations);
- Send transactional emails about your account, billing, and exports, and, only if you opt in, product updates (contract and, for optional updates, consent);
- Diagnose problems and improve reliability, performance, and features (our legitimate interest in running a good service);
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
MapLore is deterministic and preset and template driven: we do not use your project content to train generative AI models, and we do not sell your personal information.
4. Payments through Paddle
Subscription and credit pack payments are handled by Paddle.com Market Limited, which acts as the Merchant of Record for your purchase. When you buy a plan, you complete checkout with Paddle and become subject to Paddle's own privacy policy in addition to this one. We receive from Paddle only the information needed to manage your subscription, such as plan, status, country for tax, and renewal dates, and not your full card number.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences. We may use privacy respecting analytics to understand aggregate feature usage, and where required by law we will ask for your consent before setting any non essential cookies.
6. When we share information
We share information only with:
- Service providers who host our infrastructure or render exports on our behalf (Amazon Web Services) and who process payments (Paddle), under confidentiality and data protection obligations;
- Law enforcement or regulators, if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of MapLore or others;
- A successor, if MapLore's business or assets are transferred, subject to this Policy continuing to apply to your information.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
7. Data retention
We retain account and project data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain records, for example billing records, to comply with legal or tax obligations.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, and in particular if you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or the Republic of North Macedonia, you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can update most account information yourself from Account Settings, or contact us at company@maplore.io to exercise these rights. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority, including the Agency for Personal Data Protection of the Republic of North Macedonia.
9. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 16 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Security
We use industry standard measures, including password hashing, encryption in transit (HTTPS), and access controls, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. International data transfers
Our hosting and video rendering run on Amazon Web Services in the United States, so your information may be processed in the United States and other countries whose data protection laws may differ from those where you live. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for these transfers.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the Service before they take effect.
13. Contact
Questions about this Policy or your data can be sent to company@maplore.io.
